28.2.11

It has come to my attention that many of my entries centre around my dinner. I understand this may be a tad boring for some people. I don't care though because I love dinner. At the moment its the highlight of my day. Once the evenings start getting lighter and I venture out after work, the entries will hopefully have a bit more variety, but while its still cold and dark I am going to enjoy my dinners, and share my joy with you lot. February was rounded off with home made mince, doughballs and mashed tatties (and peas, purely for decoration. I dont like peas). Bye February!

27.2.11

Today was a very lazy Sunday. I didn't set foot outside, mainly because my cars exhaust has gone kapoot and its rather noisy and unpleasant. So instead of venturing into the big bad world I spent most of the day watching The Big Bang Theory season 1 and reading up on The Stanford Prison Experiment, after watching a film called The Experiment last night (good film, recommend it).

26.2.11

Went out for a wee drive this afternoon and had to put my shades on in the car. Wanna know why?

Because it was sunny!!!!! All day, no rain or snow or howling wind. It was still freezing though....

25.2.11

Went for a little impromptu night out with Eileen and our best friend Lyndsay. We decided to check out a newish bar called Flat 0/1 which is basically a bar set up like a flat, to a degree. It has a kitchen (bar), dining table, sofas, chairs made out of bits of bathtubs and a bed. We managed to successfully get the bed.

Yup, its a real bed. In a pub. It was quite a fun night.

24.2.11

This is the space shuttle Discovery preparing for its final voyage into space. I sat and watched the live video feed for over 40 minutes waiting for it to blast off. I was all excited as at one point they thought it may not go ahead because someones computer in NASA HQ got the blue screen of death.....28 seconds before blast off this happened:

23.2.11

Today I got a bit of paper in the post that cost me £23 and told me a whole lot of nothing.
Apparently my work didn't get any references when they hired me a year and a half ago, and since then my previous employers have ceased to exist so I had to pay to get a Disclosure done. Atleast I get the money back for it....

22.2.11

Today I was still ill and feeling sorry for myself. I did manage to drag my sorry backside out for 10 minutes on the medical recommendation of my mother. Apparently some fresh air would make me feel better. I think mum just couldn't be bothered going out to get bread so sent me instead. Since Dad had taken my car to work I had to use mums. It is apparently stuck in 1997. It wasn't even built in 1997.....

21.2.11

I am not well. Lucozade has been my friend today. I did attempt to have a rehydration drink but it was rank. 'Blackcurrant flavour' yeah, right.

20.2.11

Today I decided to make fudge. It was, to say the least, a complete fudgetastrophi.
Not only did I burn is seconds before taking it off the heat, therefore having to sieve out the burnt bits and losing about a quarter of it, but its also not set.
Its not all bad though. I am about to have some fudge goo and banana. I will pretend it is a healthy pudding due to the fruit. Much like Eton mess, banoffee pie and pavlova.

19.2.11

Went over to Eileens for dinner. She made calzones, which are definitely one of my top 10 dinners.
As you can see mine has a 'J' on it which makes it all the more awesome. The evening was rounded off with raspberry cheesecake and skooshy cream, and 2 hours playing the Sims on the XBox. Good evening. :)

18.2.11

I was going to go to Tesco this evening and buy a new DVD (or 6) but I thought I should have a look and what unwatched ones I have.... not that many really. Well this is excluding all 4 Tremors films and Prison Break Season 4 final disc.
Actually thinking about it now, there's probably more but these are the only ones that still have the cellophane on them......

17.2.11

Its oh so quiet....

Dad and I were the only people in our part of the train. Usually its pretty busy so we were a little concerned we were on the wrong train. By the time the train was leaving there only 4 or 5 more people had got on..... very strange.

16.2.11

So today I am a little bit famous. Here, to the left, is an article from last weeks Lochaber News about the presentation I did a couple of weeks ago.

Please make an orderly queue for autographs. *dons shades*

15.2.11

Look at my dinner. Are you jealous? You should be. It was a pretty cracking dinner for a Tuesday night. Made all the more cracking as my mum made it even though she wasn't in the house! That's housewife skill!!

14.2.11

Mum and I play Facebook Scrabble. We have been playing this current game for about 2 weeks and have only had 3 shots each.
I went on to take my next shot and found I have the worst bundle of letters ever. All I needed was an O to have a full collection on useless vowels.

I managed to make the word Tie. 9 points, so not all bad.

13.2.11

Younger sister Sarah popped round today. I only saw her briefly as I was taking Hayley and her sister to the airport, and then when I got home I slept, but she brought cakes!!
The excellent thing about these cakes is that they had tiny little red hearts inside.
I have told Sarah many a time she should get into the cake decorating business (see the entry on January 3rd to see another of her creations). Perhaps she will one day and I will be her professional taster.

12.2.11

Club Noir Masquerade night. AWESOME fun. Made all the more awesome because Eileen got a chance to come at the last minute (unfortunately because my nephew was unwell and my sister in law decided to stay at home with him).

11.2.11

This is Hayley. We met last year during the Brazil charity trip I was doing as she was one of the many other people who was doing it as well.
She and her sister are here for the weekend and we are all going to Club Noir tomorrow night. She was in her pyjamas mere moments after getting in the house. Cant say I blame her, really.

10.2.11

I've got a couple of guests coming to stay for the weekend tomorrow, so this evening was spent get shopping in and making their room look spiffy (prior to this the room was full of toys, and childrens things and had Lightening McQueen bed covers. My wonderous mother has gutted it out which is massively appreciated.)
Hopefully a good weekend will be had by all!

SO EXCITED!

9.2.11

Winnie the Pooh looks about as awake as I feel.
He is also doing that 'raising your eyebrows as high as possible so as to hold your eyes open' thing that I am also currently rocking.
Time for an early night. He may think happiness is a nice warm tummy and, while I don't dispute that, tonight happiness is a long deep sleep. Zzzzzzz

8.2.11

Daylight! Today was the first day the sun was actually rising when I left for work, and it was rather pretty. I cant wait until it's actually light outside when I'm heading off to work.

7.2.11

This is my desk calender from work. As you can see todays date has a square around it. I don't know why. I remember putting the square round it, but I almost immediately forgot why it was there.
I have a system, you see. Circles are days off, a circle over half the date is a half day, highlighted ones are exciting/important dates, but squares....Well squares have never been part of my calender code. I really hope it wasn't something important....

6.2.11

I popped over to see Eileen and her clan this afternoon and while I was there her eldest, Andrew lost a tooth while eating a yoghurt. As you can see, Andrew has lost many teeth and is currently going through the 'giant teeth, small head' stage. He'll grow into his mahoosive munchers soon enough and be a very hansome young chap. At the moment.....well he just looks a bit crazed

5.2.11

This puddle is at the end of my road. Doesn't look too bad right? Well it was about 4 times the size last night, covering the entire road. There was also a car abandoned just at the bend, which I think had drowned. I was all for leaving the car down there and walking up to the house, but my dad made me drive through it ( I think he didn't want wet feet). Thankfully my car didn't drown.
Also the town just down the road was being cordoned off by police due to a roundabout being completely flooded. (the 'puddle' must have stretched about 30 metres) and dad and I had to adventurise the long way home. Had there been flooding on that road we may have had to go stay with my brother or sister. The perils of living in the countryside.

4.2.11

Had a Chinese take away for dinner tonight, and the shop had a wee bowl of lucky red envelopes with a little sign saying 'help yourself'. So I did.
I got a nice wall calender from the take away just after New Years, with a big picture of a phoenix on it. Man, I love free stuff :)
Kung Hei Fat Choi! I hope the year of the rabbit is good to you all.
(better a day late, than not at all!)

3.2.11

NOT MORE SNOW!!!! This was the carpark at the train station this morning. Thankfully it didnt hang about, however the weather is now freezing rain and howling wind.... I think i prefer the snow.

2.2.11

So I headed up north to go to my presentation for the charity trip I did last year. This here is the Bridge of Orchay.

There was part of the West Highland Way just behind the bridge and river, so I had a wee nosey. Atleast I can say I have done part of it, even if that was only about 5 steps.

Some lovely scenery from the carpark at the Bridge of Orchay.

It rained the entire day so this is a good representation of our view in the car.
We also got some
due to the weather

Finally, this is me and my Uncle Ken just before we set off for the Rotary meeting where we were going for me to do my presentation. Sadly I didnt get a picture of the presentation in progress. It went very well, and generally had a lovely day. Except on the way home, as the snow chased us all the way.

eta - Also, I am 100% certain Jimmy Saville, of Jim'll Fix It fame, was hanging out in the foyer of the hotel we were in.

1.2.11

Getting my clothes organised for my presentation tomorrow. This is one of the vests I wore on my trip to Brazil, and the only one that managed to stay clean!
Fingers crossed tomorrow goes ok!
