Today there was a bake sale in work, I believe for the African Drought appeal. You can't beat a bake sale in work. Always tasty treats for much cheapness.

Came home from work tonight to the smell of freshly baked cake. Jam and coconut cake, to be exact. Unfortunately I had to eat my dinner before I was allowed a piece. It was worth the wait though.

Tonight I was meant to be going to Kirstys house for a birthday DVD night but unfortunately her house became a plague house and she had to cancel for the safety of humanity. Lyndsay came to the rescue and let me, Eileen and Sarah descend upon her abode.

She fed us Kramola Fizz (the replacement for Cremola Foam, a staple at my Grans house when we were growing up. It was pretty awesome)
Sarah and Eileen created Sherry Bombs (teaspoon of Kramola Fizz mix licked off the back of your hand, and then washed down with a sip of sherry)
Sarah approved of them. I declined the offer to try one. I was quite happy with my glass of raspberry flavoured God water.
Mum also made me a birthday cake, which Sarah decorated (of course. Its her role in the family now...)
I enjoyed my cake. It was a nice wee evening all in. I also got some lovely presents. I have been well and truly spoiled this year.

Today was my first full day down south. I was staying with Rachel, who I met in Brazil. We went to Woburn Deer Park and Gardens. It was a lovely day. The gardens were lovely.

I also consumed possibly the worlds most gigantic scone. It was so immense I had to eat it with a knife and fork!

It was so worth it though.

Met Sarah for lunch today. We had both been wanting to go to a new place that's opened in town. I walk past it everyday on my way home from work and Sarahs bus drives past it every morning on her way to work. They have yummy cakes in the window and I think thats really the only thing that got our attention.
Nom cake!! I had some Victoria sponge and Sarah had the worlds biggest meringue. It was a very nice lunch indeed.

Apologies for any typos but I have migrain aura starting and cant actually see what I am typing. I'll fix it tomorrow

Today was my first day back at work after a glorious 11 days off. As is always the way, it was a horrible day.
Its ok though because I cheered myself up with a caramel cup and custard. Cake always makes me happy, it could be why I have such a podgy tummy but I really don't care.

Went over to see Graeme and his clan tonight as they wanted to watch my DVD from Brazil. Kirsty had made some wee fairy cakes. They had strawberries inside and were quite yumtastic. Don't tell Dad, he is still being deprived of nice food.

One of the best types of cake is free cake. A guy in my team at work had his birthday today so, as is tradition, he got a card, beer and cake.
I am not a huge fan of chocolate cake, but I am not one to turn down a free piece of any flavour.
I better get my order in for July.....

Is there anything better than coming home from a hard days work to a home made fairy cake?

Yes there is. Coming home to a fairy cake made by my niece who, if she was here, would have told me I wasn't allowed it and then would have sent me to my bed.

She wasn't here so I got to have it, with custard. It was good :)

Younger sister Sarah popped round today. I only saw her briefly as I was taking Hayley and her sister to the airport, and then when I got home I slept, but she brought cakes!!
The excellent thing about these cakes is that they had tiny little red hearts inside.
I have told Sarah many a time she should get into the cake decorating business (see the entry on January 3rd to see another of her creations). Perhaps she will one day and I will be her professional taster.
