14.7.11

Came home tonight to a BBQ on the go and Eileen, Andrew, Lewis and Elise for company. With the beautiful weather we have been having this week it was nice to get to sit outside and enjoy it for a while. It was a lovely evening, with the highlight being Elise teaching me how to get my Lady Gaga on. That girl's got some moves :)

HAPPY 8TH BIRTHDAY ANDREW!!!
A lovely birthday party (with an excellent buffet!) was had by all and I think Andrew was suitably spoiled. He even liked the dressing gown and slippers I bought him!

Also, me and Eileen took a jaunt to Tesco this evening and found this little guy:

The happiest deformed tomato ever!! We found him with the face drawn on and he just looked like he was dying to have his picture taken.

Went a little late night shopping tonight as it's Andrews birthday on Saturday and before I headed homeward I stopped off at Millie's cookies.
I only wanted 4 cookies (2 for me and 2 for Mum) but somehow the girl behind the counter managed to convince me to get another 2 for 'only £1 more' (!?). They were worth it, though. Millie's cookies are gooooood.

Today I had planned to go over and see Sarah with Eileen and Elise. We decided to go out for some lunch and a chinwag.

I had possibly the most delicious strawberry milkshake on the planet. Eileen somehow managed two, they were just that good.
We were joined by a strange little being who stole milkshake and caused hilarity in a variety of ways including, but not limited to, having her cardigan over her head and buttoned under her chin so the arms looks like crazy little ears.
Then we went to Queens Park and lay in the sunshine enjoying the beautiful weather before me, Eileen and Elise had to head home and collect her boys. However, the day had been too perfect up to this point.
So, the car decided to play up and I had to call out the AA. We ended up being 2 hours later than planned to collect Andrew and Lewis and I am now completely shattered. Thankfully the wait for the AA wasn't too bad and didn't ruin the whole day and I am still a happy little bumble bee.

Went over to see Eileen today, as its her birthday. Dropped off her pressie, which I think was a hit.
I was also greeted by 2 ill children and one who had been having typical little boy fun with his big cousin.
I actually think Lewis had been literally rolling about in the mud. Apparently he and Connor had just been playing football.
The picture doesn't do his muddyness justice and moments after this picture was taken he was whipped off for a much needed bath.

Happy Birthday Eileen!!

Today the school my nephews go to had their Spring Fair. Andrews class are learning French and he and his friend had been chosen to work in their French cafe. He was taking orders and serving drinks and cakes. However they did so well in encouraging people to come to the cafe that they were a bit over run....

Step in Lewis! Although he was there with me and Eileen just to enjoy the fair he quite happily stepped in to help run the cafe. I think the pair of them enjoyed themselves. Particularly as they were paid in a free ride on the bouncy castle and a free chocolate croissant. Tres proud of them both. Especially as no other kids had been chosen to work in any other stall.

Today has been a very good day. There were many things that made it so good. Firstly I was off work on a wee holiday, and there for got a lie in. Secondly I went to Eileens and hung out with her and her terrible trio, who were all on top form. Andrew, Lewis and I played some board games. Elise in particular was hilarious and even gave me my first ever kiss and cuddle from her when I left. She's usually very particular about who and when she gives kisses or cuddles too but, somehow, I got on her good side today :). Thirdly we had stovies for dinner, which were tres tasty. Finally, and possibly the most exciting thing of the day........I found French set yogurts in Asda!!

You may think 'So what!' but I LOVE French set yogurts. We were basically brought up on them and, in recent times, they have become very difficult to come by. I have been keeping an eye out for them for months and months and finally I have found them. I've already had 2 today, and I think I may go have another one!! Next on my food mission is MacIntosh red apples. Haven't seen them in a good couple of years!

I popped over to see Eileen and her clan this afternoon and while I was there her eldest, Andrew lost a tooth while eating a yoghurt. As you can see, Andrew has lost many teeth and is currently going through the 'giant teeth, small head' stage. He'll grow into his mahoosive munchers soon enough and be a very hansome young chap. At the moment.....well he just looks a bit crazed
