14.8.11

So I haven't updated in 12 days, and I do not have a photo for every day.
If I am honest, I am bored of this. My day to day life is mundane and the blog is boring me, so I can only assume it is boring to other people. Over the past month or 2 I have found it more and more difficult to take a picture of something different every day, because usually 5 days of my week are exactly the bloomin' same. Therefore I have failed at my Challenge 365 and I shall be closing its metaphorical doors.
Cheerio Challenge 365. Another unfinished blog of mine, left to fester in the depths of the interwebs.

2.8.11

So it turns out my little fainting episode yesterday was brought on by some sort of wee bug and I have pretty much spent all of yesterday and today sleeping it off. The constant nausea has subsided so I think I'll make it back to work tomorrow.

1.8.11

So today I didn't get up to too much. Oh yeah I did faint in Queen Street station and get carted off in a wheel chair. But other than that, it was a quiet one.

31.7.11

I've watched alot of films today. I watched Scott Pilgim vs The World. Resident Evil: Afterlife and Tim Burtons Planet of the Apes. Its not often that I managed to stay awake and watch one film all the way to the end in one sitting. It's quite impressive that I watched all of these in one day. They were all pretty good films though.
So that's July finito. Summed up by a lazy Sunday watching some movies.

30.7.11

Today me, Mum & Dad, Eileen and her clan all went to The Glasgow Show. The highlight of my day was the Rocking Horse Stunt Team. This picture is of a man riding upside down on the side of a horse. That, if you ask me, is pretty awesome. Mum, at the end of their show, said something along the lines of 'I thought it would be more impressive'. There was, at one point, a man standing astride 3 stallions galloping at full speed, and the same guy then later went down one side of the horse, under its tummy and up the other side back onto its saddle, again at full gallop. Pretty dang impressive.

29.7.11

Today there was a bake sale in work, I believe for the African Drought appeal. You can't beat a bake sale in work. Always tasty treats for much cheapness.

28.7.11

So I finished the book I posted about the other day and was looking for something else to read. I asked Mum if she had anything I might like and these are the few I narrowed it down to from the huge bundle she gave me. I think it is going to take quite some time for me to get through them all.

27.7.11

My little car was in the garage today getting a few wee repairs and its MOT.
Thankfully there wasn't anything major needing done, despite the indications that the car had been giving recently (it has alot of wee quirks that make an appearance every wee while. Well it had decided to bring them all back at the same time over the past couple of weeks. I think it knew it was almost MOT time and was just trying to freak me out).
Considering its an 11 year old car it really is in pretty good nick.

26.7.11

I am not generally a big reader, and the only books I generally will read quite obsessively are James Patterson ones. However a friend in work was reading this book and she let me borrow it. It has spawned a TV programme I quite enjoy which I didn't realise actually came from a book series. I am really rather enjoyingthis book, just need to wait for the girl in work to finish the next one and let me borrow that!

25.7.11

Due to my traumatic toenail injury yesterday I couldn't put proper shoes on today, so I had to rock the socks and sandals look to work. I would just like to point out these are not my feet, It is surprisingly difficult to take a picture of your own feet.

24.7.11

Today I awoke from my slumber to find that the weather was beautiful and I didn't have much on my agenda, so I planned to have a Lazy Sunday. However my dad had other plans. He called me from my room and asked for me to give him 'a wee hand in the garden'. That 'wee hand' ended up with me weeding, sweeping and shovelling the entire driveway. You may not think that is much of a big deal but my driveway isn't a wee 2 car drive way. My driveway is gigantic!

This picture is me standing at the top and the black arrow is the bottom.
This is me standing where the black arrow was and the red arrow is where I stood at the top. Its safe to say my muscles hurt, I am sunburnt and I have blistered on my thumbs. To top it all off, once I had finished I whacked myself on the shin with the spade then just about ripped my toenail off. Gardening - bad for your health

23.7.11

Tonight was the last night of freedom for a girl in work, Toni. So me and a few other of the girls took her out for the evening for her hen night. We went to Khubla Khans where there was meat (personally I tried wild boar, ostrich and zebra) and one very, very large cocktail. It was quite an enjoyable evening.

22.7.11

After the disappointment of yesterdays Twizzlers I decided to treat myself to some tablet. There is a wee man who comes into the building I work in every month or 2 and sells flavoured tablet. I got strawberries and cream flavour and banana flavour. Let me tell you, they did not disappoint. Proof that Scottish sweeties are better than American sweeties (though I still have ones I want to try. Like Milk Duds...)

21.7.11

Tonight I went for a wee jaunt to the shops after work. I came across a new American candy shop and decided to have a gander. To be honest, it was pretty disappointing. £8 for a box of Fruit Loops? There was a pretty poor selection of American sweets in general, and it was actually mostly made up of jars of sweeties that you can get almost anywhere (millions, dolly mixtures, boiled sweeties). However I did find Twizzlers so I decided to try them. They are minging. There ones were meant to be cherry flavoured but, to be honest, they tasted like slightly salted plastic. America, why do you disappoint me so?

20.7.11

I had to make a pitstop this evening as I thought the boot of my car was about to pop open (it wasn't) and came across this wee man wandering around the carpark playing the bagpipes. I suspect his wife has had enough of the screeching and kicked him out to practice somewhere where he wont offend her ears.

19.7.11

Bought myself a pretty little pair of shoes for work. Unfortunately the CRIPPLED me and I ended up with 6 plasters on my feet! I think I am going to have to wear them around the house with some thick socks for a while.... either that or take slippers to work with me.

Monday, 18 July 2011

18.7.11

Came home from work tonight to the smell of freshly baked cake. Jam and coconut cake, to be exact. Unfortunately I had to eat my dinner before I was allowed a piece. It was worth the wait though.

Sunday, 17 July 2011

17.7.11

Saw a wee job that took my fancy today so decided to apply for it. I spent about 4 hours on and off on the application form so fingers crossed! Other than that my Sunday was pretty uneventful.

Saturday, 16 July 2011

16.7.11

Went for a wander up to the shops with Eileen today. Got this lovely rain mac for a bargainous £30, it was originally £60. The Next sale is always good for a bargain.

Friday, 15 July 2011

15.7.11

There are a few times a year when certain fruits are perfect. Hallowe'en time is satsuma time. the start of summer is great for strawberries and yesterday was the best day ever for nectarines. I may have had 2 in a row and asked mum to buy more today. YUM!

Thursday, 14 July 2011

14.7.11

Came home tonight to a BBQ on the go and Eileen, Andrew, Lewis and Elise for company. With the beautiful weather we have been having this week it was nice to get to sit outside and enjoy it for a while. It was a lovely evening, with the highlight being Elise teaching me how to get my Lady Gaga on. That girl's got some moves :)

13.7.11

This is one sleepy doggy. Eileen and her kids have been coming over during the day to see Huey while I have been at work. I think they have been tiring him out. He was absolutely out for the count, so much so I have to go give him a shoogle to wake him up so he could go out the back before bedtime.

12.7.11

Got home from work tonight to find the water was off. Apparently a pipe had burst somewhere and cut off the water to the majority of the surrounding area.
Me and Eileen went for an adventure to get water. Scottish water were apparently giving away bottled water at the Town Hall. By the time we got there they had all but run out, so we went to the next drop off point. The lorry hadn't arrived yet with the next load of water.....and still hadnt appeared an hour later, so we gave up and went to Tesco. The place had been ransacked apart from a few stray bottles. I was hoping to get enough to wash my hair, but no such luck :(.

11.7.11

I am staying at Graemes house this week looking after the house and Huey will the Clan Campbell are off on their holidays. The weather was lovely tonight when I got in and theclouds looked like they were painted on.....

10.7.11

I did DIY today!! I am not very good at these sorts of things but I decided to tackle this wee shelf unit myself, and only go ask Dad for help if things went wrong. Well no help was needed, and I even managed to cut a hole in the back of the top shelf to pass wires through. Go me!

9.7.11

Meet Pheobe, the latest addition to Sarahs household. I went over to Sarahs today to drop of some cat scratchers and beds that Charlie doesn't use and got to meet Pheobe for the first time. She is a lovely wee thing and she seems to have settled in really well. I think Sarah likes having something to fuss over.

8.7.11

Tonight I was meant to be going to Kirstys house for a birthday DVD night but unfortunately her house became a plague house and she had to cancel for the safety of humanity. Lyndsay came to the rescue and let me, Eileen and Sarah descend upon her abode.

She fed us Kramola Fizz (the replacement for Cremola Foam, a staple at my Grans house when we were growing up. It was pretty awesome)
Sarah and Eileen created Sherry Bombs (teaspoon of Kramola Fizz mix licked off the back of your hand, and then washed down with a sip of sherry)
Sarah approved of them. I declined the offer to try one. I was quite happy with my glass of raspberry flavoured God water.
Mum also made me a birthday cake, which Sarah decorated (of course. Its her role in the family now...)
I enjoyed my cake. It was a nice wee evening all in. I also got some lovely presents. I have been well and truly spoiled this year.

7.7.11

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!!
I got cake from the people in work (and also a profanity generator flip book :-S )

And, among may other lovely presents, this vintage necklace from mum and dad. Mum also made amazing orange chicken for dinner and tomorrow I am going to have a DVD night with Eileen, Sarah and Kirsty. Yay for birthdays!!!

6.7.11

Me and mum had a Chinese takeaway for dinner tonight and while I was waiting for it to get ready in the shop I was watching the TV. Apparently, this man does not think there is anything casual about getting a whopping big stick out. I dont really know what the actual news story was about, but he looks pretty serious about it anyway.....

5.7.11

Today is my youngest nephews 5th birthday. Here's the birthday boy winning second place at our Easter egg hunt this year. Happy Birthday Ethan!!!

Also this monkey has made my day today. Its a black macaque from Indonesia that nicked a guys camera and managed to take a picture of itself. Ok so it's not a picture I took, but it is still a photo from my day.

4.7.11

Happy (almost) Birthday to me!!!!
Got my first birthday cards today, from my Gran and Aunt Maureen. They are now sitting pride of place beside the telly, and hopefully they'll be joined by a few more on Thursday.

Sunday, 3 July 2011

3.7.11

Today was a rather lovely Sunday. The weather was gorgeous all day. Me and Mum did a bit of work in the garden, we watched the Wimbledon final while eating strawberries and cream (or in my case strawberries, banana, cream and meringue) and rounded the day off with a wee BBQ.

Saturday, 2 July 2011

2.6.11

Today was Ethans 5th birthday party, although he isn't actually 5 until Tuesday....
The day was warm enough to allow us to have the buffet out the back garden. Here is Elise giving Uncle Graeme into trouble, I suspect because he is lying on her pink blanket. Birthday boy Ethan is in the orange cap behind Elise.

1.7.11

Happy July!! Today I had lunch with mum, Sarah and Eileen. Me and Sarah had arranged to meet for lunch today a few weeks ago. It was nice that mum and Eileen got to come along too. Sadly me and Sarah had to go off to work. I suspect mum and Eileen went to the pub, just because they could.

30.6.11

I went round to Eileens for dinner tonight (homemade lasagne = YUM!) and on my way home I had to stop off and get some petrol. I almost couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the price. 130.9??!?! That's cheaper than its been in AGES. Hopefully the price will keep dropping because it was started to get verrrry pricey filling my wee car.

So that's us half way through the year, and the month of June was rounded off with a nice little saving.

Wednesday, 29 June 2011

29.6.11

It was a bit of a blah day today. There was nothing of excitement or note so here is a picture of some of the pretty flowers in the garden. Personally, I like the pink ones.

Tuesday, 28 June 2011

28.6.11

Today was my first day back at work. This made me sad. However after I finished work I went and bought some of my favourite salad dressing. That made me happy! You may think its a bit tragic but this salad dressing is amazing, and fairly hard to come by these days (yes, Eileen, one bottle is for you!!)

Monday, 27 June 2011

27.6.11

Today was the last day of my holiday. I flew home last night from Luton and today I spent the day lazing about the house. I haven't seen any of Wimbledon so I watched the Raphael Nadal v Juan Martin Del Potro match. It was rather exciting. Nadal won and is through to the quarter finals. I suppose I should try and watch an Andy Murray match at some point.

Sunday, 26 June 2011

26.6.11

Today me and Rachel went to Whipsnade Zoo. We fully expected it to be packed because it was a roasting hot day. It wasn't too bad. I had an ice lolly for elevenses, and ice cream cone for lunch and watched this brown bear eat an apple in his pool. It was a most excellent Sunday.

Saturday, 25 June 2011

25.6.11

Today was my first full day down south. I was staying with Rachel, who I met in Brazil. We went to Woburn Deer Park and Gardens. It was a lovely day. The gardens were lovely.

I also consumed possibly the worlds most gigantic scone. It was so immense I had to eat it with a knife and fork!

It was so worth it though.

24.6.11

Today it was time to head home from Inverness. All was going really well. We made good time down the road and made it safely to Lyndsays. Mum came and collected me and Eileen and we dropped Eileen off at home. However we had only made it to the top of the street when the car radiator went Kapoot! I had a flight to catch down to Luton and I still had to wash clothes, pack and get to the airport. Thankfully we got towed home by the AA and mum dropped me off in the butterfly mobile with plenty of time to spare. Phew!!

Thursday, 23 June 2011

23.6.11

Tonight we headed out to sample some of the local nightlife in Inverness. We decided to go to a club called Miami, mainly because it was the only nightclub we had seen, it was open on a Wednesday night and it was free to get in. An added bonus was that the round of drinks below cost a grant total of £3.85!! You can barely get one of those drinks for that in Glasgow.

However, the music was pretty dire so we ended up heading back to the caravan at about 1am. We're so rock and roll
